Community Action Agencies
Community Action Agencies are the boots-on-the-ground organizations that deliver critical services based on local needs. Each of Nebraska’s nine CAAs conducts an annual Community Needs Assessment (CNA) to understand the unique challenges facing their communities and tailor programs accordingly.
CAAs are primarily funded through the federal Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. To receive these funds, agencies meet strict accountability and performance standards.
